We retain details of companies that are no longer active for a number of reasons including:

• To give our users the ability to browse a director's current and past company appointments.
• Our systems use both current and past data to generate better reports and scoring calculations with a higher accuracy.
• Every year, a number of dissolved companies are restored back into Companies House. We save the conduct and activity of those companies prior to dissolution.
